As part of the demolition time frame we had scheduled today the removal of the pavers. I allowed 5 hours for one person but I think it will take 15 man hours in total. Is it worth it? It was approx $20 worth of 'take it away' by the demolition company but to buy an individual paver new would be a minimum of around 80c per paver!
Not to mention the environmental impact of having these pavers become rubble and then us buying new pavers or putting down concrete for the new house in parts. So salvaging it was the way to go... however it's taking a toll. I'm exhausted and managed to do about 1/3 of the total. With the delay in the demolition due to the changes in the SEPP and CDC rules it's a good thing... so we can go back next weekend and do the rest. Hopefully with two of us it'll be quicker.

Oddswop has attracted one guy who is basically stripping the house of lots of useful stuff so he can use it in an investment property. I'm glad it will have some use. I have been told that the demolishers take stuff to recyclers but I feel better that someone is getting a more direct use out of it. I admire John who is very handy and taking all sorts of stuff from the wardrobes, the exhuast fans, a window, the blinds, the internal doors as well as the kitchen! The kitchen will come up a treat if it was painted white. (and benchtops replaced.
Adam, another transaction via
Oddswop took the shed and dismantled that and a shower screen for use in another property.

Adam took the shed. Great that someone is so handy! |

And voila ... all ready as a flat pack! |
Scarily enough our neighbours who you can see in the photo above can see all of our yard. I do think we will need some screening plants! Here's a photo from our neighbours place (it was for sale and I went for the inspection)
The sales person was saying how it wouldn't be built out... hmm.. we are only a single storey but it won't look quite the same as this! The house should be just in front of where the shed ends in the photo above...
