Bricks Take 2 and Interior Paint Sampler

Last weekend we went out to the brick yards again as we were uncertain about the Cadman brick in the courtyard.  Esp when viewed together with the Gravel. The last blog post about bricks showed us very clearly the two bricks just wouldn't work together although it didn't really matter as there wasn't much opportunity to see the two bricks together as we'd only use the feature brick in the courtyard.

Anyway after an early Saturday visit we worked out that Blackett would suit us better in particular with the black windows.  We also changed to Monument Colorbond rather than the Ironstone colour.  We checked against the Gravel and the Monument will work better.  Downpipes will also be Monument although the fascia will be Paperbark.

The Blackett walls which were at the brickyards were both different.  We think the one exposed to the elements more seemed to age well although the one under cover seemed very red... ah well either way they work well with the black windows.

As we're prepping for the Colour Appointment on Monday, we're frantically trying to finalise the interior colour options so we're trying to be sensible and doing sample pots of paint.  Thank goodness we are as the colours we have selected thus far are feeling too cold.  We still need to look at it in morning light but it's not looking good for this set of paints.  We chose Southwards, Surfmist and Graceful White and none of them are quite right.  Tomorrow we'll be picking up some other paints including 1/4 Donkey, Mouse and Reiki.  Trim is probably Flokati.

Our yellow paint in the existing house is throwing us.  And we're wondering if we're being too conservative.

Anyway tomorrow's experiment with the browner colours will be interesting.
