Contract Signed!

We signed the contract today.  Wow talk about a lengthy document.  We had to initial every page and sign in certain spots but it was easy enough.  This was after a week of procrastinating about reviewing it!

We reviewed it and I checked the licenses and it all seemed above board.

The contract was easy but the items on the contract we had updated last weekend with Sekisui with all the alterations which they still had not incorporated.  It was probably a good strategy to go through it all in red 'pen' (we did it in Adobe Acrobat Reader) and mark it all up and take it with us.  I had emailed it to our sales person as well but I'm not sure she uses it as she has to write up her own version of the variations.

I was pleasantly surprised they got the majority of it right!  There were still a few things such as missing the awning windows in the drawings (but getting it right in the contract) but all things we're confident they will be able to amend.

The total amount signed off was $372,218.

The changes in amount were due to:

• Alfresco/courtyard pricing being corrected (we don't want it tiled or drop edge beams etc
• Heights of stacker doors adjusted from 2400 to 2143 as it apparently wouldn't have worked due our ceiling height only being 2590
• A cavity door being added back in
• A couple of freebies thrown in (shower roses that type of thing)
• Basic landscape plan taken out (we'll DIY)
• No gutter guard (I was curious how much it'd cost.  At > $4000 we'll DIY after handover)
• Change in Rainwater tank so it fits under the deck.  It's now a custom shape/size so it works.
