Wow, can't believe we have 9 days to handover date!
We spent Saturday morning showing a couple of concrete people the site and getting quotes. Looks like it'll be around the $12k mark. We really would like to get someone who is recommended rather than a relative 'random' from the internet! So we are waiting on a couple of the less random people but isn't that an indication itself?

Our building inspection person will be going through Tuesday at 6.30am with the Site Supervisor. Let's hope all the stuff that is picked up is minor. We did send a bit of a list of stuff we'd want him to check out. But surprisingly some stuff has already been fixed. Or I have another false memory. The south western corner had some offset bricks I noticed last weekend but most of these seem to be fixed. I think our SS has been spurred on to make sure the building inspector picks up nothing! (Go Mr SS!)

Slightly offset but better than before |
Even with the slightly offset bricks as long as it was structurally sound I'd be OK with these as they are in the south western corner which is not going to be seen by anyone except the dogs!
Another thing I noticed was that the garage door doesn't seem to close properly or has a gap. I think some further adjustment is required.

The downpipes are PVC and painted "Monument" colour. They do a job as bad as we would do with painting ;) Well better but not that much better! Again not something I'd be saying anything about to the SS or Building Inspector but just funny to note.

Paint is not that much better than what we can do! |
I also just snapped some photos. Just because.

Any ideas for the outdoor porch light? |
Some courtyard love...

This may be the wall for the mini vertical garden |

The wall on the right of the doors is the target vertical garden wall |
We'll really appreciate the north facing courtyard!
Imagine our BBQ on the wall here. Imagination will become reality within days! Days! Woohoo!

One thing that did happen during the week was that we got power connected! So even if we don't have gas by the time we have handover we will at least have power.
One weekend we had one of the tradies come out to do something about an expansion gap. This is the expansion gap he fixed (as it was too tall to reach without a ladder when he did the rest of the work).
We also had our stairs painted. It's in Urban Grey to match the doors...
We'll be staining the stairs. Another job for handover day! That the Home Theatre wall and weeding are all on the agenda.
