We went by the block as we wanted to check on the space we have for the decking that we want to start spec'ing out and getting a quote on.
What was really cool is someone turned up to do some work. So we managed to get access to the property inside too! So pic piggies... here's a bit of unexpected dessert!
I'd have loved to take more photos but I had a couple of people and 3 dogs waiting for me outside.
I did take my shoes off before going in but the other guy (carpenter) had shoes on anyway so I don't know why I bothered :)

Kitchen Sink is nice and square |
I did spot a few issues. One is the stopper in the bathroom which falls short of stopping the door as the towel rails get in the way. Probably needs a stopper on the skirting or a longer stopper!
|
A bit of a door stopper fail |
The main bathroom has the IXL tastic thing installed. But in the drawings has a separate exhaust. Not sure if we bother flagging that and trying to get that rebated as we were charged extra when we asked for an exhaust in the laundry... and we have two drawn in exhaust fans that wouldn't have been installed (bathroom and ensuite).

Switches in the bathroom |
We'll probably want to change the reflector globe to be a LED light as well.

Shower looking pretty schmick! |
We have a lovely waste (plug drain hole thing) which I think has been changed since I saw it last. Will need to check previous photos.
|
How nice is that drain! (I think it's called a waste) |
Laundry linen closet has a very strange stopper on it. I don't know why they bother. And as Will rightly mentions, Pepper will probably chew it off!
|
Stopper on outside of the linen closet door. Weird. |
Linen closet is definitely a linen closet and can't store things like ironing boards or mops. So will need to allow for that when we get to doing the laundry fit out.
The thinking is to do an IKEA kitchen fit out for the laundry and they have a new more modular system coming out from 1 June 2015. So perfect timing for us. If only I could see it now... but since it all needs to wait that is fine.

Linen closet shelves |
The loos have been installed. They look right. I didn't check in great detail but did close the lid after seeing this:
|
Loo installed. Confirmed it is a soft close lid |
Laundry door from the inside. Not sure what those bricks are for.
Shall we get a new doggie door for our four legged family members? Or just use an existing old one?
|
Laundry door |
Under the kitchen sink I found a heap of tins for paint. Including at least one empty / clean one. Nice to know we'll have some Haymes touch up paint!

Haymes paint tins - for touch ups? |

The kitchen cupboards have at least one fail. We asked for space so we could pull open the doors. But what about the above the rangehood doors. They don't open :( We may have to ask Sekisui House about these or just fit push to open fittings into this door set. With the rangehood installed we can't open the doors!

Range hood cupboard not openable |

Gorgeous stove and oven! |

Installed dishwasher |

Another photo of the stove with the side wok burner |

Switch including for the cooktop (assume that's what it's for) |
There isn't much space where we can hide the under cabinet lights. Hmm...

Less like a whiteboard now |
|
Water point for fridge looks like it needs some patching/finishing |
