Tiger Tails and more costs

The house still hasn't had the first bit built yet and we are up for even more additional costs.

Firstly the capped water point we were meant to leave on site and was originally included with the demolition company wasn't done.  So we had to get that organised.  Since we didn't want to use our existing water pipe which would generate us 'free' hot water in summer due to running under the driveway we decided to bite the bullet and organise a plumber to rerun the plumbing.  We are using the same plumber as Sekisui so they are familiar with the requirements and would be doing the gas and install so will 'throw' the new water pipe into the same channel.

At over $800 it was an expensive bit of poly pipe which according to Neighbour Bill was about 40 minutes of work!  But it could have been much worse if we had to get a new plumber to dig up a channel so we should be grateful we had the opportunity to change our water over!

The more painful part has been the Tiger Tails.  We have finally organised it but it was over $1000 for the privilege and for now we only have them up for 6 months.  One would hope that's how long it will take to finish the build but that still takes us to ~April 2015.  (*Waaaahhhhhhh* I don't know if I can last at my MILs till then :( ).  It's been frustrating as at first we didn't even know what they were.  Once we worked it out we still didn't know how to organise them or anything else.  W has been of the opinion that these are too expensive and that it should be something that is included by Sekisui rather than having to have us plebs organise them.  The argument is that Sekisui are the experts and should be wearing any major oversights such as this.  Anyway it looks like a safety requirement which we may have to cover.

This is what over $1000 buys us:
