Red Bearers and Joists

Our Site Supervisor called yesterday afternoon to let us know that the frame had been delivered.  Or most of it.  He was apparently very wroth at the delivery of the framing as he was expecting the bearers and joists to be delivered first.  Having spoken to our neighbours yesterday evening (when I took the below photos) it sounds like there were framing people ready to go (4 guys) from around 11am and they couldn't do anything as the bearers and joists had yet to be delivered!  The guys left at 3pm and I think that is when BB our Site Supervisor was around as he called me sometime between 3 and 4pm.

The factory for the frames apparently is a Sekisui House owned one.  Some info about their facility is available on the website:
At Sekisui House, we approach home building with an ongoing commitment to quality control - from the earliest stages of research and development in Japan, through to our Centre for Manufacturing and Quality Control in Ingleburn, NSW - the first of its kind in Australia.

But the issue at the moment is that there is a delay in getting trusses.  I think I know why:

BB was saying that the factory needs to service 12 other SS.  And he says he's not seen it ever this busy with regards to the framing side of things.  I offered that it may be due to being close to Xmas but he said it's still a ways off so it's not due to that.

So don't know what they will do without the trusses.  There are a few bits that look like trusses (or "roof frames" as I called it :D ) down the side but it's definitely not all the bits.

Interesting that the floor bearers and joists are red in colour. I wonder if that's due to some special treatment (e.g. for termite proofing?) but I would have thought treated timber would be blue in colour unless it was special designation?

Not sure what the few lengths of timber (which look semi treated ;) ) in the foreground are.  Maybe just joining/strengthening bits.

A few of the trusses can be seen just next to the pile of treated frames
The trucks and cranes and equipment are really damaging the long battleaxe driveway.  Here's a pic of some of the bits that are being damaged... just hope that the water pipe underneath is all disconnected so if it does get damaged doesn't leak everywhere!

In terms of work, it sounds exciting!  BB said that the bearers and joists should go in today; the floor Monday morning and the frame starts Monday afternoon!  Yay!

From there not sure if it is windows, wrap+bricks or roof.  Given that the trusses are delayed I'd assume windows and bricks but then I hear the brickies are also booked up for a few weeks.  Let's just hope it all pans out.

On another note BB didn't say anything about the services in the trench.  I'm not going to mention it if he doesn't...
